Position Function: Provides assistance to the Assistant Athletic Director for Academics in order to help facilitate the academic development and progress of student-athletes toward degree completion in assigned sport. This position reports to the Assistant Athletic Director for Academics. This position will provide academic assistance to student-athletes in one or more sports, assist with departmental record keeping activities, provide assistance with departmental liaison activities, and will supervise a minimum of one graduate assistant. Salary Grade : 15 Please see Staff Compensation Structure for salary ranges. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: A. Provides academic assistance to student-athletes: 1. Assists in enrollment procedures 2. Assists with admissions process 3. Provides student counseling, as requested 4. Assists with on-campus recruiting 5. Works with faculty and coaches, as needed, to monitor class attendance, study hall attendance, and reports on student progress, and performs other related tasks. B. Assists with departmental record keeping activities: 1. Assists with the maintenance of student-athlete records 2. Assists in the maintenance of current information on student-athletes' academic degree program 3. Assists in the maintenance of accurate records relative to student-athlete eligibility 4. Assists with reports and surveys related to academics C. Provides assistance with departmental liaison activities. 1. Provides liaison services with University faculty, as well as admissions and registrar personnel. 2. Assists with informing coaches on academic matters relative to Student-Athletes D. Performs related duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibility Supervision of student-workers, tutors, and/ or interns as needed.
