Astrodynamics Engineer

Omitron, Inc.Colorado Springs, CO
$110,000 - $140,000

About The Position

Omitron is seeking an Astrodynamics Engineer with coding and software integration experience to join our Colorado Springs team supporting the Joint Commercial Operations (JCO) program and integration efforts with the Traffic Coordination System for Space (TraCSS) for the Department of Commerce (DoC). You will bring a solid foundation in orbital mechanics, orbit determination, and conjunction assessment, and apply that expertise to develop astrodynamics services in an AWS cloud environment while providing engineering support that enables TraCSS to execute the space traffic management mission. Omitron is the developer and sole maintainer of the Astrodynamics Support Workstation (ASW), a mission-critical software suite that serves as the algorithmic engine for high-accuracy spaceflight safety operations across the U.S. Government. ASW provides orbital analysis, conjunction assessment, and related astrodynamics services for Space Situational Awareness (SSA) customers spanning DoD, the Department of Commerce, and NASA. ASW is the algorithmic engine at the core of the TraCSS platform, providing the computational capability that enables space traffic management at the accuracy levels the mission demands. Prior ASW experience is preferred but not required; Omitron’s established team of ASW experts is committed to bringing strong engineering talent up to speed on our systems. This role operates at the intersection of rigorous astrodynamics analysis and modern cloud-based software development. You will contribute directly to Space Domain Awareness (SDA) mission outcomes by delivering high-accuracy catalog products and integration solutions for commercial and government customers.
