About The Position

The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at Bradley University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track faculty position as Assistant Professor in Residence. The FCS Department seeks a faculty member with expertise in Sports and Performance Nutrition who can develop and teach coursework within the Nutrition and Dietetics program, as well as other relevant coursework, as needed. The College of Education and Health Sciences is comprised of five academic departments. The Nutrition and Dietetics program is housed in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences and offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S) and Master of Science (M.S) in Nutrition and Dietetics. The Combined 4+1 B.S./M.S. Nutrition and Dietetics program provides an accelerated path to achieve both a B.S. and M.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics. The Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics program has received accreditation status from the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Requirements

  • Master’s degree in nutrition or closely-related field, doctoral degree preferred.
  • Registered dietitian (RD/RDN) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Experience working with a sports nutrition program, preferably in intercollegiate/ professional athletics or sports-related field
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently; leadership experience preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Board Certified as a Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) preferred
  • College-level teaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a high-quality sports nutrition practicum
  • Develop sports nutrition coursework for undergraduate and graduate students
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the department
  • Academic advisement and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students
  • Contribute to professional service within the department 
  • Communicate and collaborate with faculty, preceptors, and other stakeholders to advance the mission, vision, and goals of the department, college, and university
  • Maintain professional competency and skills required for professional and academic practice including dietetic registration and continuing education requirements
