About The Position

The Assistant Nurse Manager I work directly with the Contact Center Leadership and Director of Nursing Leadership to oversee and support clinical care delivery focusing on delivering safe, high quality care. The AMN I assists leadership with clinical staff selection and onboarding into the department, performance appraisals, disciplinary processes, departmental quality improvement projects and reports, and patient/staff satisfaction experience and score improvements. May oversee employee time and attendance, and employee scheduling. The position directly reports to the supervising leader for day-to-day operations and has a dotted line report to the director of nursing for oversight of the nursing body of work. The ANM I utilizes the nursing process to effectively assess the needs of patients, identify a plan of care, and implement and evaluate care given by the care team. Coordinated and directed care given by another team member. Addresses system issues to facilitate the provision of quality, efficient care. Provides oversight and management of direct clinical care and care processes across the department. Provides direct and indirect care to patients and leads the patient care team toward goal achievement in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and hospital policy. Leads employees to accomplish job objectives, inspires confidence and motivation to enhance employee satisfaction, facilitates change, fostering innovation and self-development to achieve excellence in care delivery, patient safety, and quality. Excellent communication skills, leadership ability, time management, and problem-solving skills required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • 1 year nursing experience
  • Current Nursing License active in the state of Missouri
  • Proficient Computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams
  • Meet numerous requests and deadlines.
  • Delegate appropriately to other team members
  • Represent department on process improvement, standardization, and regulatory committees
  • Assist with developing long-term department plans.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years nursing experience with at least one year in area of specialization
  • Prior supervisory or training experience
  • Ambulatory Clinic experience
  • Certification in applicable nursing specialty or ambulatory care nursing
