About The Position

Assistant Store Managers are crucial to store success, partnering with the Store Manager to develop team members, deliver excellent customer service, and communicate company values. This role requires navigating complex business priorities to satisfy customers and develop staff. The Assistant Store Manager collaborates with the Store Manager to align business interests with the company, employees, and community, focusing on achieving revenue goals and assisting in all business aspects. This includes aiding in team member selection, maintaining high training standards, motivating staff, addressing customer and team needs, and staying aware of industry trends. The role also involves day-to-day operations such as training, sales, visual merchandising, inventory, administration, customer service, store opening/closing, asset security, labor scheduling, security system maintenance, and acting as Store Manager in their absence.

Requirements

  • Equivalent experience to an Associate's Degree.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to convey the Deckers Brands Vision and Mission to your team members and customers.
  • Excellent project management skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work through challenges.
  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility of schedule and hours to meet the needs of the business.
  • Flexibility to travel to meet the needs of the business.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools and applications.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) to four (4) years minimum retail store management experience.
  • Associates Degree.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the Store Manager to develop team members, provide the best customer service possible, and communicate company’s values, vision, and mission.
  • Effectively navigate a complex business to satisfy customers and develop team members while working under the pressure of competing business priorities.
  • Partner with the Store Manager to develop and engage team members and achieve budgeted revenue goals, while assisting in all aspects of the business.
  • Aid in the selecting of team members who pursue passions that relate to the brand and its products.
  • Maintain high training standards and motivate and inspire team members to contribute to the productivity of the store.
  • Be available to address and respond to the needs of customers and team members.
  • Continually cultivate awareness of industry trends.
  • Aid in the day-to-day operations of the store including training, operations, sales, visual merchandising, inventory management, store administration, and customer service.
  • Open and close the store.
  • Secure all assets.
  • Plan and prepare the labor schedule.
  • Maintain the store security system.
  • Act as the Store Manager in their absence.
  • Develop and motivate team members to create empowered and engaged teams.
  • Ensure the highest level of customer service possible and prioritize brand and product knowledge training.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, team members, management, and corporate stakeholders.
  • Set plans and targets and entrust team members appropriately.
  • Think critically to resolve problems and approach challenges with agility.
  • Identify industry trends and educate your team members about the current market.
  • Assist in the execution of store strategies that enhance customer satisfaction, expand traffic, and optimize profitability.
  • Manage inventory and partner with corporate stakeholders to meet the needs of your market.
