About The Position

The Assistant Director of Recreation is responsible for the overall supervision, coordination and implementation of all guest and group recreation/leisure activity programs. Schedule Details: Our Recreation department operates 7 days per week. The schedule is varying between 6 am – 8 pm, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of supervisory or management experience
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work flexible schedules including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Always provides outstanding guest/owner service.
  • Provides planning recommendations regarding the needs for expansion, reduction and development of leisure programs and facilities.
  • Coordinates recreational programs on a day-to-day basis for all age groups. Programs will differ according to resort requirements and seasonal opportunities.
  • Plans, organizes, and instructs specific classes, activities, and events, including special events and holiday programs.
  • Monitors and evaluates recreation program content and prepares communication material (flyers, handouts, postings, etc.) to attract participants and promote program awareness and interest.
  • Maintains and orders recreation supplies and inventory.
  • Accounts for all monies collected through program fees.
  • Organizes competitions, mixers and other group activities.
  • Evaluates programs for effectiveness/participation and adapts programs as necessary.
  • Continually seeks new and exciting programs and ideas to improve, expand and keep overall program.
  • Monitors customer service ratings and directs efforts to maintain proper standards.
  • Works directly with the Management for coordination of special functions.
  • Interacts and assists Sales and Marketing in special programs as necessary.
  • Provides oversight of the bistro in the absence of Director of Food and Beverage.
  • Supports the Director of Food and Beverage with the execution of events at the resort and collaborates with other departments to ensure the events are successful.
  • Assists and provides support to other departments when required.

  • Adheres to Company standards and maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.
