About The Position

The New York Mets are looking for a creative and talented Associate Video Editor to support the Social Media team across different video production needs. This role will be responsible for editing short-form videos (TikToks, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts), as well as editing long-form videos when necessary. This person will assist with on-site video shoots, helping capture compelling content to share on the Mets social media channels. The ideal candidate is a skilled, detail-oriented video editor that demonstrates their understanding of short-form content platforms. This person should be easily adaptable, willing to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while delivering high quality work under tight deadlines.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of short-form video editing
  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro (or similar video editing software)
  • Comfortable shooting video using both cell phones and cameras
  • Demonstrate understanding of short-form content platforms (YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels)
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required during the baseball season

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Adobe Photoshop
  • Experience in editing long-form videos for social media
  • Familiar with shooting video on a camera
  • Previous experience shooting/editing video for a sports team

Responsibilities

  • Edit short-form videos (including but not limited to content with players, celebrities, promotions, hype videos, culturally relevant trends)
  • When necessary, edit long-form video
  • Collaborate with the Social Media team to bring video concepts to life
  • Support video shoots with both cell phones and cameras
  • Contribute to the creation of engaging content that connects with fans across all social media platforms
