About The Position

Responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of subcontractor engagement, the AVP of Contract Labor ensures timely, cost-effective, compliant delivery from external partners. This includes contract negotiation, performance monitoring, risk mitigation, and alignment with project requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Minimum 3–5 years in subcontract or procurement management
  • Proficiency in procurement tools and contract management systems
  • Strong cost modeling, financial analysis, and spend management
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and problem-solving capabilities

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications like PMP, CPM, CAM, CSCP are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee subcontractor delivery for cost, quality, schedule, and compliance
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and performance reviews
  • Collaborate with internal teams (project managers, procurement, legal) to integrate subcontractor work
  • Facilitate bidder's conferences, status meetings, and communications
  • Ensure documentation and subcontractor records are audit-ready
  • Manage change orders, payments, closeouts, and compliance reporting
  • Guides subcontractor strategy to align with organizational goals, anticipating future needs and proactively planning capacity, capability, and risk.
  • Mentors internal staff and subcontractor partners, promoting continuous improvement, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment under pressure, making timely decisions that balance cost, quality, risk, and customer expectations.
  • Effectively leads teams and subcontractors through process, scope, or operational changes by fostering clarity, buy‑in, and adaptability.
  • Navigates escalations and disputes with professionalism, ensuring issues are resolved constructively and relationships remain strong.
  • Builds trust and influence across internal teams and external partners, driving alignment without direct authority.
  • Models a culture of safety, compliance, and service excellence, setting clear performance expectations for subcontractor partners.
