Prairie View A&M University invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Vice President for Human Resources (AVP–HR). Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Strategy and Transformation, the AVP–HR is a senior executive leader and strategic partner responsible for advancing PVAMU’s human capital strategy in direct alignment with Journey to Eminence (JTE) 2035. The AVP–HR plays a critical role in translating institutional vision into an exceptional employee experience, one that attracts, develops, engages, and retains a high-performing, inclusive, and mission-driven workforce. As a key enabler of PVAMU’s strategic goals, the AVP–HR will champion a culture where staff and faculty, in collaboration with the Office Faculty Affairs, are empowered to grow, innovate, and contribute meaningfully to the university’s long-term impact and legacy. This role is ideal for a forward-thinking HR executive who understands that organizational excellence begins with people and who can lead transformation with empathy, accountability, and strategic clarity. The AVP–HR will align human resources strategy with institutional priorities outlined in JTE 2035.
