About The Position

The Treasury Associate plays a key role in managing the financial heartbeat of Essex. This position supports the Company’s cash management operations, payment processing, and banking relationships that keep our business running smoothly. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in treasury, accounting or banking.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively across teams.
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset with a passion for process improvement and operational excellence.
  • Self-starter with a high degree of integrity and accountability.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation preferred.
  • Familiarity with Yardi Voyager software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee ACH returns, credit card chargebacks, and refunds to ensure timely resolution and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, Operations, and Legal to support and coordinate transactions and financial processes.
  • Serve as a liaison between Essex and its banking partners—facilitating new account setups, managing banking services, resolving inquiries, and handling other related matters.
  • Process company payments including checks, EFTs, virtual card, and wire transfers with precision and compliance.
  • Co-manage the Company’s Purchase Card Program, supporting monthly reconciliations and user activities.
  • Assist with cash management by monitoring daily cash positions and supporting cash forecasting.
  • Ensure adherence to SOX controls and support both internal and external audit requests.
  • Contribute to process enhancements, documentation updates, and treasury system improvements to advance team goals.
  • Participate in special projects and ad hoc analyses to support business priorities.
