Job Description The Associate Systems Design Engineer supports engineering activities such as CAD design and mechanical layouts, test, and modifying applications. You will utilize tools such as CREO and SOLIDWORKS to create designs for a variety of projects. You will also design, define, and implement complex system requirements for customers and prepares studies and analyzes existing systems. In addition, you will determine system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system. Identifies, analyzes and resolves program support deficiencies. Develops and recommends corrective actions. You will report to the Engineering Team Lead and work onsite from our Mequon Wisconsin or Richland Center office locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Relevant Field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience utilizing either CREO or SOLIDWORKS software.
  • Ability to design utilizing ACAD electrical and experience with 3D CAD, Creo, and Solidworks.
  • 1+ years' experience in control systems engineering related to variable speed drives and industrial automation systems.
  • 1+ years' experience in electrical design, with emphasis in schematics and panel layout generation.
  • Must be available and willing to work overtime in order to meet customer project commitments.
  • Must perform duties in the office, that is co-located in the manufacturing plant, as part of a project team. Expected to support group projects going through manufacturing.
  • Previous experience in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience using programmable controllers, numerical controls, computers or motor controls and drives in industrial automation control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Individual responsible for Bill of Material creation and panel layouts for system hardware.
  • Finalize system schematics, assignment of wire numbers, selection of wire type/gauge.
  • Support engineering in the design of control, drives and automation systems working in a project team environment.
  • Perform detailed hardware layouts and create manufacturing release packages.
  • Provide updates to project manager/leader on status of activities.
  • Performance to schedule and performance to budget for self and other less-experienced engineers.
  • May participate in project meetings, production handover, and continuous improvement projects.
