The Associate Specialist will be responsible for the export of raw materials and finished goods, working closely with freight forwarders, QA departments, USDA, and other regulatory officers. This role involves providing data to the Finance department for transfer prices and letters of credit, managing exports for all countries supported by Animal Health, and optimizing freight forwarder selection based on cost and service. The specialist will also collaborate with manufacturing plants to find cost-efficient shipping methods, maintain export country shipping metrics, and handle the export of research samples. Ensuring accurate and validated departmental documentation and recommending process improvements to reduce costs or improve efficiency are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED with a minimum 4 years of relevant work experience OR Associate's or Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study
  • Must have the ability to read, write and understand information and to effectively communicate information to colleagues at various levels
  • Must have strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
  • Must be proficient with PC operation and have the ability to use Microsoft applications

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for export of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Work closely with freight forwarders, QA departments, USDA, and other regulatory officers.
  • Provide data to the Finance department so they can assign transfer prices and process letters of credit as required.
  • Work with and handle all the countries that our Animal Health supports.
  • Responsible to use the most efficient freight forwarder based on cost and service to maximize our return.
  • Work with the manufacturing plants to provide better cost-efficient methods of shipping products.
  • Maintain export country shipping metrics.
  • Ability to handle the export of research samples.
  • Ensure that all documentation for the department has been completed accurately and validated.
  • Look at existing processes and recommend process improvements to reduce cost and/or to improve efficiency in the department.
  • Communicate with our company's Animal Health and our Company International Affiliates and Third-Party Customers to schedule shipments and handle any export concerns.
  • Work with the markets to insure they have all the documentation necessary to clear customs.
  • Work with the plants to insure the due dates of the markets are met and/or work out other arrangements to service the customers.
  • Report out the export shipping metrics.
  • Update the reports for products/customers and products in transit.
  • Analyze data to improve current practices and processes.
  • Analyze exports to insure we are using the most efficient mode to transfer international products.
  • Perform miscellaneous export tasks including transfer pricing, research samples, Supplier show free goods, and facilitating transfers between countries.
  • Maintain order status, customer, product specifics and compliance databases.
  • Enter data, monitor order status for adequate supply of product to fill orders as scheduled.
  • Maintain compliance on export shipments as required with our company's Animal Health and our Company, US Government, international laws and destination country regulation.
