The Role As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are now looking for an in-house Associate Service Engineer to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with a Associate’s degree in Electronics, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, who is eager to apply their knowledge and skills in a dynamic, real-world setting. The in-house Associate Service Engineer will be integral to our operations, working on the refurbishment of certified analyzers to ensure the highest quality products are delivered to our customers worldwide. This role encompasses various aspects of the production process, including inspection, rebuilding, testing, and packaging, and offers the opportunity to be a part of a team that values innovation and quality. This position is located in Rochester, NY.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Electronics, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related Technical discipline.
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge effectively, demonstrating competence in electromechanical systems, chemistry, computer science, or other relevant fields.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% for field training and professional development.
  • Excellent team collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with peers and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to efficiently manage time and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a related field, including internships or cooperative education programs.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing, laboratory, or warehouse environments.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and documentation in a technical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Independently install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify electromechanical equipment.
  • Perform detailed repair and maintenance tasks on electromechanical equipment following established procedures.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
  • Complete and manage Device History Record documents to ensure full traceability and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Uphold all documentation in alignment with regulatory requirements and company procedures.
  • Identify and report nonconformance, contributing to corrective actions.
  • Achieve and maintain required certifications, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned, contributing to the team's success.
