About The Position

ImmunEdge has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Scientist with strong hands-on in vivo experience, flow cytometry, and cell culture expertise to join our In Vivo Pharmacology team. This individual will play a key role in advancing preclinical oncology and immunology programs by designing, executing, and analyzing in vivo studies to support candidate selection, mechanistic studies, and translational strategy. Strong candidates will be highly collaborative, scientifically rigorous, and passionate about drug discovery and immune-mediated diseases. Experience working in a dynamic, early-stage biotech environment and contributing across discovery and translational workflows is highly valued.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in biological science, with 8 years industry experience or Master's degree with 6 years industry experience in drug discovery or development, with significant hands-on experience in vivo models
  • Demonstrated experience designing, executing, and interpreting studies in murine syngeneic and transgenic disease models, particularly in oncology and/or immunology.
  • Expertise in subcutaneous tumor implants and orthotopic surgeries is required
  • Proficient in dose administration via multiple routes, including intraperitoneal, intravenous, tail vein and oral gavage.
  • Experience with blood collection (cheek bleed or RO), necropsy and sample processing in mice to support PK, PD, and biomarker analyses
  • Experience in flow cytometry (immune phenotyping, data analysis). Prior experience with Cytek spectral cytometry instruments is a plus
  • Experience in aseptic cell culture and perform cell line expansion for tumor implants in mice
  • Proficiency with standard laboratory techniques such as ELISA, MSD, qPCR, western blotting, and cytokine bead array is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to independently analyze and interpret complex datasets using  Flowjo, GraphPad Prism, generate publication-quality figures, and effectively communicate findings through slide presentations in departmental and cross-functional forums.
  • Ability to independently plan and execute experiments, troubleshoot complex problems, and rigorously interpret scientific data
  • Strong collaboration, communication, technical writing, and organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, supportive start-up environment
  • This is a position that requires working in a laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards. Protective clothing, gloves, and safety glasses are required while working in the laboratory.
  • This position requires the ability to lift containers or instruments up to 25 pounds and work standing at a fume hood or lab bench for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and interpret in vivo efficacy, PK/PD, and mechanistic studies in relevant oncology and immunology models
  • Effectively contribute to safety/toxicology studies and assessments in murine models
  • Perform necropsies and tissue collection, process tissue and perform flow-cytometry based staining and sample acquisition.
  • Collaborate with discovery, translational, and biomarker teams to leverage study-derived samples and develop ex vivo mechanistic assays (MSD, bulk RNA-seq, scRNA-seq) that inform disease biology, mechanism of action and translational strategy.
  • Contribute to study planning, experimental timelines, and data-driven decision making for program advancement
  • Maintain accurate, well-organized experimental records while ensuring a safe, compliant, and reproducible lab environment
  • Identify opportunities to improve in vivo platforms and evaluate emerging technologies relevant to ImmunEdge’s pipeline

Benefits

  • ImmunEdge offers a competitive employment package that includes an annual bonus plan, equity, and a generous benefits package including comprehensive health (medical, dental, and vision) insurance for our employees and their families, a 401k plan, FSA plans (medical, dependent), an Employee Assistance Plan, and a holiday and paid time off plan.
