About The Position

Neomorph is seeking an experienced associate scientist with a passion for drug discovery and extensive experience with routine molecular and cell biology techniques. The role will be critically involved in supporting our Neomorph's internal pipeline through contributions to both target identifcation and validation efforts, as well as by enabling decision-making through generation of robust data packages. The successful applicant will be an integral member of project teams and will be responsible for communicating broadly across the organization.

Requirements

  • MS with 5+ years, or BS with 8+ years of industry experience
  • Track record of supporting preclinical drug discovery with robust data packages: includes evaluation of novel targets/pathways for therapeutic potential and/or characterization of compounds in relevant disease models
  • Proficiency with routine cell and molecular biology techniques including tissue culture, qRT-PCR, western blotting, and ELISA
  • Experience with cell-based assay development, optimization, and troubleshooting including plate-based high throughput readouts (e.g. luminescence, fluorescence)
  • Experience with cell line engineering strategies (RNAi, CRISPR, lentiviral transduction)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Desire and capacity to participate in a dynamic and fast-paced research setting
  • Desire and capacity to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience with targeted protein degradation
  • Demonstrated proficiency with contemporary plasmid cloning techniques
  • Experience with HTS-enabling technologies (e.g. liquid handlers, compound dispensers)

Responsibilities

  • Profile the biological activities of lead compounds in relevant cellular models/assays
  • Delineate mechanisms of sensitivity and resistance to refine understanding of desired compound profiles using both chemical and genetic approaches
  • Assess glue degrader mechanism of action using established assays
  • Elucidate biological mechanisms of action that confer pharmacodynamic effects of lead compounds
  • Support molecular and cell biology platforms for target identification and validation through plasmid cloning and cell line engineering
  • Communicate results and solicit effectively in a variety of internal settings
