We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work as a research assistant in a translational neuropathology research laboratory. The laboratory is directed by Dr. John F. Crary, MD-PhD, and focuses on the underlying neuropathology and genetics of Alzheimer's Disease and related neurodegenerative disorders (e.g., chronic traumatic encephalopathy, Parkinson’s disease, etc.). The laboratory uses a variety of techniques, including DNA/RNA sequencing, stem cell culture, histology and digital neuropathology, confocal microscopy, optogenetics, and biochemistry. Individuals will be trained to deploy these approaches to diagnose and study brain diseases and gain exposure to challenges associated with treatment modalities, diagnosis, and research design. This role assists with the technical aspects of studies and experiments with potential opportunities to attend and present at conferences and contribute to publications. The individual will have opportunities to interface with both clinical staff and basic scientists, making the position ideal for someone who is interested in broad exposure to the challenges associated with diagnosing, treating, and studying degenerative brain diseases.
