Overview Performs comprehensive Property Condition Assessments (PCAs) and Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) for commercial, residential, and industrial properties. This position requires management of multiple concurrent projects with minimal oversight, extensive regional travel (50-75%), and the ability to meet deadlines without exception. Our clients expect in-depth technical expertise with proactive communication and follow-up. The Salary Range for this position is $66,600 - $100,000 and is dependent on education, experience, location and certifications/licensure.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in architecture and/or a related engineering field from an accredited institution
  • The environmental consultant must be an “Environmental Professional” as that term is defined in 40 CFR § 312.10 and must meet the minimum qualifications and requirements specified in this section.
  • Five or more years of experience in one or more of the following disciplines: architecture, engineering (structural, mechanical or civil) and/or construction/cost estimating
  • Three or more years of experience performing multifamily property inspections
  • Two or more years of experience conducting similar work for financial institutions
  • Frequent regional travel and/or field work (valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required)
  • Experience in performing Phase I ESAs and PCAs
  • Advanced computer literacy including proficiency with Excel and Project Management tools
  • Knowledge of web-based programs, tablets, and electronic data collection tools
  • Understanding of building systems, codes, and industry standards
  • Exceptional writing, grammatical, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, peers, and technical field staff
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret extensive variety of instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables
  • Time management and active listening skills

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site Property Condition Assessments in accordance with ASTM, Freddie Mac, and Fannie Mae requirements
  • Perform Phase I Environmental Site Assessments following ASTM E1527 standards.
  • Collect and document data using web-based programs, tablets, and other electronic tools
  • Gather photographic documentation of equipment tags, data plates, site and building features
  • Review and analyze construction plans, specifications, and maintenance records for compliance
  • Write professional PCA/ESA reports taking into consideration any unique client scope requirements, which convey the assessment.
  • Perform other consulting project duties as assigned
