The Associate Quality Engineer plays a vital role within the Quality Assurance Department, contributing to the consistent delivery of high-quality products and processes. This multifaceted position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including inspection and testing activities, internal audits, documentation control, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure compliance with established quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, exceptional organizational abilities, and a proactive mindset geared toward continuous improvement.   • Develop and maintain receiving inspection criteria for electronic/electrical components, including First Article Inspections (FAI).
  • Perform audits of in-process and final products, including operation and interpretation of Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) results.
  • Ensure inspection records are complete, accurate, and compliant with established procedures.
  • Provide process training and verification support to Department personnel.
  • Maintain DITEK part number data in inspection databases.
  • Manage the intake and documentation of Supplier Certificates of Conformance.
  • Collect and manage environmental compliance documentation (RoHS, REACH, Prop 65).
  • Assist with generating Product Compliance Certificates upon request.
  • Assist in the preparation of Supplier Quality Reports and performance evaluations.
  • Process customer returns in SAP, including evaluation, disposition coordination, and repackaging.
  • Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings and recommend disposition actions.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective action planning.
  • Participate in internal audits of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Complete audit checklists and prepare supporting documentation.
  • Review, release, and manage process documentation in Factory Logix and DOCSVAULT.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Interface with departments including Receiving, Purchasing, and Engineering to support safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Actively participate in the development and maintenance of product Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEAs), ensuring risk mitigation strategies are integrated into design and production processes.
  • Associate’s Degree or Technical Certificate required
  • 2–3 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering within electronics manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with electronic/electrical components and inspection tools (e.g., calipers, multimeters, AOI).
  • Understanding of environmental regulations (RoHS, REACH, Prop 65).
  • Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems.
  • Strong work ethic and professional relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently after training.
  • Flexible and willing to cross-train across QA functions.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and visual aids.
  • Competent in computer navigation and data entry.
  • Team-oriented with a track record of success in fast-paced environments.
  • Able to perform job functions without posing a safety risk to others.
  • Experience with IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 Standards.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Skilled in maintaining accurate inspection records.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Access, SPC, or quality software is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in reading technical drawings and specifications (GD&T).
