About The Position

This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a major engineering project within the Project Management Office (PMO). The Engineering Project Manager works cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and external partners to ensure project milestones, technical deliverables, and timelines are achieved. This role requires an individual with a traditional engineering background who can translate technical requirements into structured project plans, manage risks and dependencies, and maintain alignment across technical and operational stakeholders. Because the projects involve physical product development and manufacturing processes, candidates should have an engineering background in disciplines such as mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, or similar fields; backgrounds primarily focused on software, computer science, or computer engineering are not aligned with the scope of this role.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of project management tools and software preferred
  • Understanding of Project Management methodologies preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) or similar tools
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, engineering requirements, and development schedules
  • Familiarity with engineering development or product lifecycle processes preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to think critically when facing complex relational, technical and field use problems
  • Adept at handling data, and able to present analyses in a concise manner
  • Strong communications skills, particularly in presenting data and analysis to both technical and non-technical colleagues and customers.
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, materials engineering, or a related engineering discipline required
  • Degrees primarily focused on computer science or software engineering are not considered equivalent for this role
  • 5+ years of experience in project coordination
  • Must be US Person (citizen or green card holder), per US government contracts
  • Requires domestic travel.
  • General work hours 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday; flexibility to work evening and weekend hours when required.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move around the office and production environment for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of materials, tools, or equipment that may exceed 25 lbs.
  • Ability to perform fine motor tasks (e.g., using a computer, handling small parts).
  • Frequent exposure to noise, machinery, and manufacturing tools.
  • The work environment is generally fast-paced, and the employee may be required to shift between team collaboration, independent work, and meeting tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and work schedules
  • Track project progress and prepare status reports for stakeholders
  • Lead project coordination activities including stakeholder meetings, milestone reviews, and cross-functional updates
  • Communicate cross-functionally with internal and external teams to ensure alignment, provide status updates, and escalate risks, issues, and open action items
  • Maintain project documentation, files, and version control
  • Monitor deadlines, risks, and potential issues and escalate as needed
  • Support procurement of project materials and services as required
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and project standards
  • Develop cost projections, monitor budgets, prepare financial reports, and control project expenses
  • Ensure timely completion of deliverables
  • Review project content and recommend process improvements
  • Prepare and present project plans, progress updates, and results
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
