Position Overview Reporting to the Sr. Engineering Manager, the Associate Project Manager is responsible for supporting the engineering team with a variety of tasks related to engineering permitting, project coordination, and project documentation. While there will be a consistent list of tactical duties for this role, ongoing responsibilities and projects will be focused on project permitting.

  • Willingness to travel within Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and West Virginia.
  • Travel nationally outside of this area is possible, but does not currently exceed 20%
  • Residence in Greater Cincinnati or Columbus, OH areas
  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED), and/or technical school
  • Minimum of one to three years' related experience in the lift truck industry preferred
  • General mechanical aptitude
  • Strong customer service focus and communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Must maintain a clean driving record, as the position involves travel
  • Must work well independently and in team environment
  • Must be a driven and self-motivated individual

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant project management experience preferred.
  • Experience in material handling industry preferred.
  • Minimum of one to three years' related experience in the lift truck industry preferred

Responsibilities

  • Primarily responsible for small to medium sized projects, with opportunities to work on larger projects
  • Act as the point person for designated projects to make sure all aspects of the project are met with success according to customer expectations.
  • Work with Engineering and Sales to develop project scope prior to order acceptance and obtain signoff from customer and Sales.
  • Understand and manage project budget.
  • Develop a timeline and ensure milestones are met.
  • Provide consistent and thorough communication with the customer regarding timeline, deliverables and any unexpected delays.
  • Coordinate post- installation walk- through and training as required.
  • Secure customer sign-off
  • Support senior project manager(s) on large projects or initiatives where appropriate
  • Consult with the cross functional team in the execution of the project
  • Oversee the project permitting process which includes communicating, submitting, and tracking documentation to city, county, and state to ensure all the municipal guidelines are met
  • Jurisdictional research including special licensing forms or documents to be filled out
  • Property information research required for permit applications
  • Completing jurisdiction specific permit application
  • Compiling all required documents into a submittal package
  • Permit Application
  • Creating a cover page for specific permit (using supplied template)
  • Site plat map showing birds-eye building view (obtainable via Google maps)
  • PE stamped drawing package (engineer or PM would still own obtaining)
  • Supporting or reference documentation
  • Printing full submittal package and organizing
  • Delivering or shipping out permit package (Many jurisdictions don’t accept online)
  • Follow-up with jurisdictions and responding to revision requests.
  • Closing permit process and scheduling final inspection.
  • Track and provide permit status updates to Project Management & leadership team
  • Assist with project documentation editing and review
