This specific Associate Project Engineer position is based at the Sturgis, MI plant within the Abbott Nutrition division. The Nutrition business focuses on developing science-based nutrition products for all ages, featuring leading brands such as Similac®, PediaSure®, Pedialyte®, Ensure®, and Glucerna®. The Sturgis, Michigan facility has a 70-year history of producing essential nutrition products, significantly impacting its community and providing vital nutrition to millions worldwide. In this role, the Project Engineer will administratively manage small to medium-scale projects, encompassing utility/facility/infrastructure installations, office, lab, and manufacturing area developments, manufacturing facility and equipment upgrades, and warehouse expansions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, STEM, Project Management

Nice To Haves

  • PMP Certification
  • OSHA 30hr or equivalent
  • First Aid / CPR certification

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Manage project financials, including maintaining budget and cash flow projections.
  • Assist in project scope, cost estimate, and RCE development.
  • Works closely construction teams to manage schedule, resources, scope, and adherence to internal and external standards and specifications.
  • Provide procurement activities including sourcing/qualifying suppliers & service providers, preparation for competitive bidding, adding new vendors to Abbott’s procurement systems, processing purchase orders and invoices, tracking on-time deliveries, etc.
  • Provide coordination with project team and stake holders.
  • Provide communications of status and upcoming activities to project team, stakeholders, and management.
