About The Position

The Department of Healthcare Administration in the School of Health Professions at Mississippi State University invites applications for a twelve-month administrative appointment as Associate or Full Professor & Head of the Department of Healthcare Administration on the Meridian campus. As a newly established department and school, we are dedicated to shaping the future of healthcare administration education and research. We seek a dynamic and visionary leader with a strong background in healthcare administration and with academic leadership experience to lead the development of the Master of Health Administration (MHA) program and guide the department toward excellence. The School of Health Professions is dedicated to training the next generation of healthcare leaders through innovative academic programs, research, and hands-on clinical experiences. Located on the Riley Campus in Meridian, the School serves as a hub for health education and community engagement in Mississippi. Salary Grade : UC For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department. Requirements

Earned doctorate from an accredited university in Healthcare Administration, Healthcare Management, or a closely related field.
Must qualify for the rank of Associate or Full Professor with tenure, and as such, must be recognized nationally by a distinguished record of accomplishments in teaching, research, and service.

Responsibilities

Provides vision and leadership for nationally recognized education and research programs.
Provides leadership and mentoring to all faculty, staff and students.
Responsible for overall administration of faculty and support staff activities.
Responsible for recruitment of students, faculty, and support staff.
Foster the development of a Master of Health Administration (MHA) program in alignment with CAHME accreditation requirements.
Conduct research leading to scholarly publications.
Work with the Dean of the School of Health Professions and university administration in establishing goals and objectives for the school, department, and in meeting the university missions of teaching, research, and service.
Academic responsibilities include planning, reviewing, and updating the curriculum, academic programs, and course content.
Personnel responsibilities include promotion and tenure evaluation, performance evaluation, and workload management.
Fiscal responsibilities include preparing and overseeing the departmental budget and other budgets for research funding.
