About The Position

Galison is looking for an Associate Production Design & Pre-Press Manager to serve as the primary liaison between the Design and Production sourcing teams, ensuring efficient prepress workflow. This is a hands-on role requiring collaboration across departments while independently creating, updating and managing pre-press digital files for our vendors.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in prepress production, production design and project workflow management in a design-led publishing or consumer products brand with illustrated and non-illustrated content
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (including but not limited to Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat)
• Solid proficiency in font management and server management protocols
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to apply, implement and maintain brand standards, including licensing style guides to 2D and 3D design-led consumer products and packaging
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Review vendor templates for accuracy
• Prepare files from approved design layouts
• Catalog interdepartmental reprint notes
• Implement changes for reprint schedules and send files to the production team for vendor output
• Troubleshoot file issues with vendors
• Convey color comments and provide file updates from first round through the final production samples with vendors
• Manage approvals of proofs with Design, and work with them to ensure hitting schedule goals
• Participate in Design and Production check-in meetings
• Maintain the font library protocols
• Engage in Production/Design projects as needed
