Overall responsibility for assistant product manager is supporting the product managers in the end-to-end product lifecycle for the Pro product categories. These categories include Exhaust Ventilation, Fresh Air Systems, or Kitchen Ventilation. In addition, collaborate with various departments to gather requirements, assist in conducting competitive analysis, and ensure product alignment with business objectives.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, or other technical disciplines.
  • 1-3 years of professional, relevant work experience in product management, new product development, channel marketing, marketing communications, merchandising, in or marketing-related capacities, is required.
  • Ability to influence others and make persuasive recommendations.
  • Proven initiative with ability to understand an objective or outcome and work independently with little oversight to deliver expected results.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal and persuasion skills – able to learn, take initiative, and drive results in the organization.
  • Creative individual who demonstrates good problem-solving skills.
  • Highly motivated, extremely organized and detail oriented.
  • Effective communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in new product launches in a product manufacturing, building products, or consumer goods product environment is a plus.
  • Exposure to global markets, working with people in other countries and understanding regional differences is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide data, analysis, and recommendations to help develop long-range strategic plans for assigned category, including category growth strategies (both organic and inorganic) and product portfolio roadmap.
  • Assist with developing presentations to management.
  • Assist the Product Marketing Manager with marketing deliverables for assigned new product development projects, such as “go to market” plan, digital marketing, market research, business intelligence, trade shows, advertising, promotional, merchandising, public relations, and marketing communications recommendations as it relates to category.
  • Lead market or business research initiatives as assigned, providing data, analysis, and recommendations to inform action plans and achieve objectives.
  • Design and execute voice of customer initiatives to understand customer and consumer feedback in support of new product development projects and business initiatives as assigned.
  • Interacts with customers and consumers as needed to understand opportunities and improvement areas.
  • Provide input to the marketing requirements and business case justification for new product development scopes as assigned, working with the Product Marketing Manager to incorporate market and industry information, performance and feature targets, voice of customer information and forecast.
  • Ensure that the assigned new product development projects are successfully managed and launched within the stage-gate process on time, on budget, and in scope in conjunction with the assigned project manager, or as project manager with support of the Product Marketing Manager.
  • Lead teams and projects as assigned or provide marketing representation to cross-functional teams as assigned. Utilize team leadership skills to drive accountability.
  • May be requested to present projects to management for approvals and updates.
  • Initiate and drive business processes and approvals relating to new product requests and engineering requests.
  • Support development of annual marketing strategies, budgets, and plans and overarching brand and channel strategies.
  • Maintain continual surveillance and evaluation of competitors’ products/programs, market, and industry trends. Create and own competitive, market, and industry tracking documentation.
  • Must be comfortable and knowledgeable working on a commercial & residential jobsite: end user visits, making sales calls with sales force, and field testing.
  • Attend trade shows, seminars, and other industry events as necessary to stay abreast of market and industry trends.
  • Assist Product Marketing Manager and other marketing department employees in developing and executing other key projects, as needed.
