About The Position

The R&D Associate Prodcut Engineer will support the Sustaining Engineering group and will be responsible for the maintenance and support of existing home fragrance products in-market while working within a cross-functional teams. The R&D Associate Product Engineer will provide engineering support for testing, product validation, and project management for material changes and fragrance modifications. These changes may be in support of cost savings initiatives, raw material shortages, performance issues, and new supplier qualifications. The R&D Associate Product Engineer will support Sourcing with existing product specifications, testing and product validation for second sourcing of existing products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, material science or related field is required.
  • 0 - 2 years of product development experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of problem-solving techniques and methodologies
  • Demonstrates strong Static/Dynamic analytical skills.
  • Candidate must be able to work as a team player and have demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and project management skills
  • Working knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel etc.)
  • Good organization skills
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks at once and take direction from multiple individuals

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hands-on prototyping/design validation model building knowledge preferred
  • Previous CAD modeling experience (Creo preferred) a plus
  • Consumer products industry experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update bill of materials (BOMs) for all products in our systems(s) (i.e., Windchill/Oracle)..
  • Assists in DFMEA, PFMEA, root cause analysis, lean process, and kaizen events for existing product lines.
  • Track progress, identifies obstacles, and provides recommendations pertaining to systems and processes.
  • Communicates with project leadership as needed, effectively supporting with additional data/reporting as required.
  • Creates consolidated Bill of Material and product and packaging specifications.
  • Documents and uploads technical inputs in Customer portals to facilitate new product business award
  • Assists in test development, research testing tools, techniques, and processes
  • Coordinates routine customer testing submission. Applies a basic understanding of product specifications, material selection, manufacturing processes, cost constraints, regulatory and legal landscape (intellectual property) to drive high quality, sustainable, and efficient NPD.
  • Processes ECNs to support BOMs updates.
