Associate Producer, Social

Gravity MediaMenlo Park, CA

About The Position

Gravity Media is looking for an Associate Producer, Social, to join our studio team in Menlo Park. We are looking for up-and-coming talent with energy, curiosity, and a genuine passion for creating content that connects with audiences in the social space. This is an opportunity to work within a world-class production environment, gain exposure to high-profile projects, and develop your craft alongside experienced producers and studio team. The ideal candidate is a scrappy, adaptable content creator who thrives in fast-paced environments, understands social platform conventions, and can deliver high-quality content with minimal crew and equipment. This is a hands-on role that requires equal parts creative thinking and operational execution. The AP Social will serve as a key resource for quick-turn, phone-based video content—covering events, supporting stakeholder needs, and producing social-ready assets with speed and creative instinct. This role bridges traditional AP responsibilities with the emerging skillset of social-first content creation, and a strategic investment in how our service supports social-forward production requests.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in video production, social media content creation, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to shoot and produce compelling video content using a smartphone (iPhone proficiency required)
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook) and what performs well in each environment
  • Proficiency with mobile editing tools and/or desktop editing software (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Rush)
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also thriving in a collaborative team environment
  • Portfolio or reel demonstrating social-first video content (phone-shot work is encouraged and preferred)
  • Willingness to travel locally between Bay Area Meta locations as needed
  • Ability to sit, reach outward or above the shoulder, stand, walk, handle with fingers, stand, bend, and stoop.
  • Ability to operate a keyboard, view a video display terminal screen, ability to use telephone equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and push or pull up to 25 pounds.
  • Minimum 3+ years of content creation and video production experience as a Content Creator or Social Producer.

Responsibilities

  • Produce agile, quick-turn video content optimized for social platforms (Instagram Reels, internal channels) using phone-based capture and portable equipment
  • Shoot, produce, and package social-first content independently or with minimal crew—delivering assets that are platform-native and engagement-driven
  • Cover events, activations, and on-campus moments where only minimal crew and phone-based shooting are permitted (e.g., partner events, retail activations, tentpole moments)
  • Develop and execute social content capture strategies in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and campaign objectives
  • Create, edit and deliver short-form video content (30–90 seconds) with fast turnaround, adapting tone and format to the specific platform and audience
  • Stay current on social media trends, platform algorithm updates, and emerging content formats to inform production approach and creative direction
  • Partner with stakeholders across Meta to scope social content requests, set realistic expectations for agile delivery, and educate partners on what phone-based production can achieve
  • Collaborate with Producers, Editors, Coordinators, and studio crew to integrate social content into broader production workflows
  • Participate in creative brainstorms and contribute social-first concepts for incoming project requests
  • Maintain clear and timely communication with Production Supervisors and team leadership on capacity, project status, and emerging needs
  • Assist Senior Producers and Producers with pre-production, production, and post-production tasks
  • Coordinate shoot logistics: scheduling, call sheets, crew workbooks, shot lists, and workback schedules
  • Communicate project milestones, shoot details, and stakeholder updates through tasks and team chats
  • Manage project tasks in alignment with task management system, ensuring accurate documentation and timely reporting
  • Assist with script development, storyboarding, and editorial review as needed
  • Support studio-based productions, including prompter operation, basic lighting setup, and talent direction for straightforward shoots (e.g., stand-and-deliver, direct-to-camera)
