About The Position

Dreamwear is a leading wholesale intimate apparel and sleepwear company that partners with brands like Danskin, Nautica, Juicy Couture, Laura Ashley, and Nicole Miller. The company focuses on efficient production, expedited delivery, impeccable quality, and competitive pricing, making it a reliable partner for global retailers. The Print team is responsible for creating original artwork and developing new ideas from the design team. This role is for an Associate Print Designer who will work on two specific brands: Laura Ashley, known for its feminine, sophisticated, and timeless products with traditional values and aesthetics, featuring rich floral prints; and Cath Kidston, which offers a playful and nostalgic take on British life through cheerful, functional, and personality-filled hand-drawn prints, ditsy florals, and novelty motifs. The ideal candidate will be comfortable designing prints for various fabrics used in bras, panties, lingerie, sleepwear, and loungewear. They must be passionate, self-motivated, eager to learn, and capable of executing the essential responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 2- 3 years of experience in textile design.
  • Degree in Textile Design or related field.
  • Strong hand painting + illustration skills with a focus on detailed florals.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Motivated self-starter with a desire to learn.
  • Ideal candidate is passionate about print design, with a great eye for color, design, and trend.

Responsibilities

  • Support Print Designer in creating original prints and graphics from concept through pre-production in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicate effectively with Print Designer, ask questions when necessary, and apply recently gained information on future projects.
  • Create original hand painted and drawn artworks that are brand appropriate.
  • Prep existing artwork for production - create rotary repeats and reduce colors to factory ready screens.
  • Proactively gain understanding of production constraints for factory ready artwork and re-peats.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of factory-ready artwork and repeats.
