About The Position

The Associate Practice Manager supports the successful delivery of professional services by coordinating project management and technical teams. This position works closely with project and technical managers to ensure effective collaboration across all phases of a project, including technical design, quality control, and execution. The Associate Practice Manager also assists with managing project scope, budgets, schedules, and financial performance to help achieve operational and client objectives.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor or Master’s Degree in position relevant Engineering/ Architectural field from ABET or NAAB accredited school preferred, Landscape Architecture, or related field of study.
  • Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years’ job-related experience.
  • Licensure/Certification: PE, RA, PLA, PLS, or other professional licensure in field of expertise strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines effectively.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and mentors staff by fostering an open environment for learning, professional growth, and advancement, while providing guidance on performance, development, and career progression.
  • Collaborates with leadership, peers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure project needs are met and communication between managers, clients, and contractors remains effective.
  • Supports business development by maintaining key client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and actively participating in marketing and client development initiatives.
  • Strong foundation in architectural design and documentation, with deep knowledge of K12 facility requirements.
  • Skilled at building and maintaining relationships with school districts, administrators, and other stakeholders.
  • Reviews and contributes to the preparation of proposals, submittals, and presentations, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and client expectations.
  • Experience in overseeing multiple projects simultaneously, managing budgets, schedules, and resources in collaboration with Project Managers.
  • Prepares and reviews workload forecasting and resource planning reports to support efficient allocation of staff and project resources.
  • Oversees project performance by monitoring contracts, subcontracts, and change orders to ensure compliance with established procedures and standards.
  • Participates in negotiation meetings and consults with project managers to evaluate financial status, project progress, and overall performance.
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and develop staff, supporting a culture of continuous learning.
  • Promotes and supports quality assurance and quality control processes to enhance deliverable quality, minimize errors, and ensure continuous improvement across projects.
  • Proficient in allocating staff and resources to maximize efficiency and project outcomes.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to others, helping them develop technical skills, design intuition, and professional growth.
