About Longroad Energy Longroad Energy is a Boston, MA headquartered renewable energy developer focused on the development, ownership, and operation/asset management of wind and solar energy projects throughout North America. Job Purpose Reporting to the Manager of Development Operations & Origination, the Associate will be responsible for supporting the Development Operations & Origination team at a fast-paced, rapidly growing renewable energy company. The Associate will support the team in two primary capacities. In the Origination function, the Associate will work to find offtake for our projects by leading RFP responses, coordinating with offtakers, and supporting contract negotiations. In the Development Operations function, the Associate will support Longroad’s development goals through management of Longroad’s project pipeline and through processes that promote organization across the development business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferred fields include economics, business, environmental studies/sciences, or engineering.
  • One year of professional work experience, preferably in the energy industry, corporate development, management consulting, banking, or other relevant position.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization in a positive, collaborative manner.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience with proposal and presentation preparation.
  • Ability to uphold highest standards of discretion and confidentiality and exercise sound judgment on day-to-day decision-making.
  • Flexibility in work hours and responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work in-person in the Boston Office at least three days per week.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (approximately 10%).
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Two plus years of relevant work experience; renewable energy experience is preferred (but not required).
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative abilities, with a deep understanding of Microsoft Excel.
  • Database or CRM management experience.
  • Comfortable with a work environment that is fast paced and changes quickly
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple work streams at the same time
  • Enthusiastic about the renewable energy industry and willingness to learn/ask questions
  • Ability to work within a team with a positive attitude
  • Personal accountability and integrity

Responsibilities

  • Support the origination of long-term structured renewable energy transactions.
  • Lead the preparation of written proposals in response to Requests for Proposal (RFP) for renewable energy Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
  • Develop customer and marketing plans for various segments (e.g. corporate offtakers, utilities, datacenters, etc.).
  • Manage and maintain databases to track RFP and proposal status, submitted project pricing, project compliance with PPAs, and other related activities.
  • Support the Company’s strategic plan through management, tracking, and reporting of Longroad’s development activities, including the renewable energy project pipeline, project status and schedules.
  • Perform market research to identify market opportunities and risks and maintain up to date market information for the broader development team.
  • Prepare analyses and presentation materials for management, Investment Committee, and Longroad’s Board of Directors.
  • Assist in the development and execution of wind, solar, and energy storage development plans.
  • Create and maintain marketing materials for presentation to customers, partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in industry conferences, meetings, and site visits.
  • Support M&A activities (e.g. opportunity screening, due diligence, internal approvals).
