We seek a senior faculty member who can enhance our Photonics effort, provide leadership in the department, and serve as a mentor to junior faculty and students. In addition to the Department’s interests spanning classical and quantum photonics, quantum optics, light–matter interactions, and cavity QED , our Astrophysics faculty investigate the cosmic microwave background, black hole accretion, time-domain astrophysics, and star formation, with strengths in observation and instrumentation. Villanova is an institutional member of the LSST DA, and as such our faculty in the Villanova One Sky Center for Astrophysics are actively involved in the analysis and interpretation of Rubin Observatory data. In Condensed Matter, our faculty specialize in low-dimensional materials, biological physics, and magnetism in correlated-electron materials.
