About The Position

McLarty Associates is seeking a motivated, resourceful, highly organized individual for a full-time, Associate position to support one of the firm’s Senior Managing Directors. Ideal candidates for this position possess a broad understanding of international politics, economics, trade, technology, government relations, business, and entrepreneurship.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in international relations, political science, international business or related field.
  • Experience and/or interest in energy policy and critical minerals.
  • This position will have a particular focus around issues of traditional energy including oil, gas and LNG markets, so experience and interests in those areas is especially valuable.
  • Please note that this role requires permanent authorization to work in the U.S. (i.e. U.S. citizen or permanent resident).
  • Exceptionally organized with an independent and creative nature
  • Inclined to take initiative and anticipate the needs of the Senior Managing Director and the team
  • Attentive to details
  • Able to multi-task and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Able to manage and adapt to changing priorities, to remain poised under pressure, and to juggle multiple projects at a time

Responsibilities

  • Conducting research and analysis of economic, political, trade, technology, public policy, international, financial, and business issues
  • Providing administrative support to the Senior Managing Director (coordinating and maintaining schedules, completing expense reports, event planning, making travel arrangements, etc.)
  • Monitoring news outlets for relevant energy/critical minerals policy developments
  • Compiling biographies, preparing presentations and client deliverables
  • Assisting firm-wide communications and collaborations
  • Attending and reporting on speeches, panel discussions, and policy forums of interest to the firm and clients
  • Other duties as assigned
