About The Position

As an Associate Merchant at Walmart, you will serve as an advocate for customers, seeing products come to life in stores and online. This role is part visionary and part strategist, requiring you to be an expert for your category. You will leverage Walmart's scale to impact the business and the lives of millions of customers worldwide, operating within a culture that provides support and tools for optimal performance. Relocation to Bentonville, AR is required for this position.

Requirements

2 years’ experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area

Responsibilities

Setting the category strategy: establish strategy, manage budgets to drive profitable growth, and use vision and creativity to impact the customer experience
Building relationships: use influencing and leadership skills to build partnerships with suppliers, vendors, business partners and other Associate Merchants
Making decisions: make decisions about nearly every aspect of your products including replenishment, supply chain, manufacturers, store operations, planning, assortment, layouts, budgets, modular, and pricing
Designing, developing, and launching products: work with the Product Development and Sourcing team to create new products for Private Brands
Knowing your category: know your customers and supplier better than anyone and always think about what is next for your business
