About The Position

The Associate Medical Director provides clinical and operational leadership for the Arlene Cooper Community Health Center, the Gavin J. Goorjian Community Health Center, and the Mobile Medical Unit. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, compliant, and patient-centered medical care across all service locations. The Associate Medical Director is responsible for building and strengthening the clinical foundation through clear policies and procedures, defined goals, and infrastructure that supports clinical excellence. This role also prioritizes positive employee morale, professional growth, and a culture of accountability and respect. The Associate Medical Director partners closely with executive leadership, medical providers, and operational teams to improve access to care, provider performance, quality outcomes, and integrated service delivery. This position supports The Center’s mission, organizational growth, regulatory compliance, and long-term clinical sustainability.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), Medical Degree (MD or DO), or Advanced Practice degree with appropriate leadership experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive clinical leadership experience.
  • Experience managing multi-site clinical programs.
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice in the State of Nevada.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid Nevada Driver’s License.
  • Must maintain all required credentialing, privileging, and continuing education requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, culturally competent, and patient-centered care.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of clinical compliance, quality improvement, and medical workflows.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all clinical and professional interactions.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, environments, and operational needs.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout clinic and mobile medical environments for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel between clinical locations and the Mobile Medical Unit as required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions such as typing, writing, and reviewing electronic medical records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, patients, and community partners in person, by phone, and electronically.
  • Exposure to patients with potential infectious diseases.
  • May require occasional evening or weekend availability based on operational, clinical, or community needs.

  • Preferred experience in community health, nonprofit healthcare, FQHC environments, HIV care, primary care, behavioral health integration, or mobile health programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical leadership and oversight of daily clinical operations for fixed clinic locations and the Mobile Medical Unit.
  • Ensure consistent standards of care, clinical protocols, documentation practices, and patient experience across all locations.
  • Monitor clinical quality metrics, outcomes, and compliance indicators and implement improvement plans as needed.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives, peer review processes, audit readiness, and risk management activities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, licensing, accreditation, and grant-related medical requirements.
  • Provide direct medical oversight of the Mobile Medical Unit, including scope of services, staffing models, and community deployment strategies.
  • Ensure mobile services align with clinic standards, quality expectations, and documentation requirements.
  • Collaborate with community partners to support effective mobile service delivery.
  • Support onboarding, clinical training, and ongoing professional development of medical providers.
  • Supervise assigned medical providers and participate in performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective action planning when necessary.
  • Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, collaboration, and patient-centered care.
  • Support provider scheduling, panel management, and access-to-care strategies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation and billing practices in coordination with revenue cycle teams.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy, behavioral health, case management, and community programs to strengthen integrated care delivery.
  • Provide clinical input into budgeting, staffing models, and program growth planning.
  • Represent medical leadership in internal planning meetings and external partnerships as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Serve as an active member of the medical and leadership teams.
