About The Position

To strengthen the Zeiss Team located at our brand new ‘state of the art’ manufacturing facility in Dublin, California, we are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Associate Manufacturing and Test Engineer. The candidate will assist in the introduction, assembly, test, troubleshooting and repair of CZXRM products. They will be responsible for developing, producing and improving best practices in a manufacturing environment to ensure the continuous production of high-quality X-ray microscopes.

Requirements

  • B.S. with 5 years’ experience (preferred) in a related field.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and current Windows systems
  • Generating, reading and red-lining assembly procedures and schematic diagrams based on your own and engineering feedback.
  • Ability to work alone using own initiative and decision-making skills.
  • Working effectively within a small team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Clean room environment and protocols
  • High vacuum assemblies
  • High precision manufacturing
  • Kanban and Lean manufacturing
  • Microscopes, lasers, and precision machining tools

Responsibilities

  • Performs functions associated with manufacturing operations, including assembling, testing, troubleshooting and repair of high precision electromechanical assemblies and products.
  • Acceptance, QA testing and rework of components and assemblies in collaboration with R&D and Manufacturing engineers.
  • Execute source processing and final test using automated scripts
  • Collect, evaluate and log data using software programs (i.e. Python and MATLAB) to ensure the optimization of products and processes.
  • Determine and assist in developing methods, processes, and procedures to control, modify and improve the manufacturing process.
  • Train other technicians when applicable, in the assembly and testing of assemblies in a productive team environment.
  • Alignment, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of electronic and mechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to read drawings, redline procedures and communicate clearly with teammates.
