The Associate Managing Director serves as a key leader within the Operations Division and the operational right hand to the Senior Managing Director, overseeing complex utility systems that power the university’s academic, research, and campus life environments. Reporting to senior leadership and managing a large technical team, this role provides day-to-day leadership of plant operations while contributing to long-term strategy, planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is not a hands-on operator role, but a leadership position responsible for guiding teams, informing decisions, and helping shape the future direction of utilities operations at Texas Tech. Success in this role will come from building strong relationships with the team, bringing forward thoughtful ideas, and driving both day-to-day execution and long-term improvements across the operation.
