About The Position

The Associate IT Project Manager is responsible for assisting in the planning and oversight of projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget adhering to the company's goals and vision. They assist the Program and Project Management teams in pulling data, managing schedules and other portfolio level duties as needed. This role does not allow for 100% remote work. Qualified candidates must live within a daily commutable distance of Casey's Store Support Center in Ankeny, IA and be willing to work onsite five days per week.

  • Bachelor's degree in business, or a related field, or equivalent professional work experience.
  • At least One (1) year of project management experience.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand a variety of technologies.
  • Strong understanding of project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience using Smartsheet is preferred.
  • 3rd Party vendor coordination experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience with project management.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and monitor project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Organize, attend, and participate in stakeholder meetings throughout the project lifecycle from initiation through closure.
  • Prepare necessary presentation materials for meetings, such as agendas, project dashboards, status documentation, and risk logs.
  • Document and follow up on important actions and decisions from meetings.
  • Determine and manage project changes. Follow project scope change management best practices; ensuring that all stakeholders understand the resource, timeline, and budget implications of scope change.
  • Assist in developing project strategies, defining key stakeholders, goals, scope, approach, team members, risks, and communication cadence.
  • Ensure projects adhere to standard project management frameworks, and able to follow project from start to finish.
  • Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable.
  • Facilitate meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes to project team members.
  • Help manage capacity metrics and other data management such as KPI’s associated with project progress and success.
