As an Associate – Interior Design, you’ll be a critical contributor in our Office Work Group, bringing to life tailored K–12 layouts that blend functionality with creativity. This role is deeply collaborative — you’ll work hand-in-hand with our Education Partnerships team, manufacturing experts, and end-users to translate district goals into physical spaces that support engagement, wellness, and learning. This is not just about visual design — it’s about impact. You’ll shape student experiences across the country through purposeful environments that reflect local culture, inclusivity, and innovation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field required.
- 1–3 years of interior design experience in commercial, educational, or public-use spaces.
- Proficiency in Revit is required; additional skills in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite are strongly preferred.
- Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
- Must be detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, cross-functional team.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and ADA compliance is preferred.
- Passion for improving education through design.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with furniture specification is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver creative layouts using Revit to visualize environments that energize K–12 schools.
- Collaborate with Education Partnership leaders to translate district needs into spatial strategies and physical specifications.
- Support the production of 2D space plans, 3D visualizations, finish boards, and digital client presentations.
- Source furniture, fixtures, finishes, and color palettes aligned with AmTab’s brand and school district requirements.
- Present and revise design proposals in collaboration with school leaders and AmTab sales team members.
- Coordinate closely with in-house manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure feasibility of designs.
- Stay current with K–12 learning trends, ADA guidelines, and educational wellness design principles.
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings and project planning from concept through installation.
