Across the US, Canada and LatAm, AIB is focused on helping pensions, universities, non-profits, family offices, healthcare systems and other institutional investors meet their financial goals and serve their constituents and communities. We are comprised of teams of professionals with expertise spanning many functions working together to meet the unique needs of our clients including relationship management, marketing, sales, client service, and product development and management. Professionals within AIB work together to deliver a full range of asset management, risk management and advisory services supporting our clients’ investment objectives. The dedicated Family Office, Healthcare, Foundations & Endowments, and Official Institutions team (FOHFE-OI) leverages the depth and breadth of BlackRock to serve investment staff, treasurers, chief financial officers, principals, and trustees of US institutions ranging in size from $50mm to over $50bn. The team provides relationship management, business development, thought leadership, and investment insight to 1,000+ organizations, across the range of strategies from passive index allocations to custom multi-asset solutions and alternatives. Job Description: The responsibilities of an Associate in the Americas Institutional Business include: Participate as a key member of dedicated client teams serving all client segments including Family Offices, Foundations, Endowments, Healthcare and Official Institutions, based in New York, NY. Support Relationship Managers with all ongoing sales, service, and communication with clients and prospects. Assist with the development of sophisticated solutions for clients, from advisory solutions to comprehensive outsourced mandates. Handle projects around the development of our solutions business, including marketing and prospecting efforts, thought leadership, and events. Proactively maintain and develop prospecting efforts for new leads. Develop asset class proficiency across BlackRock's product range - including fixed income, equity, hedge funds, real assets, private equity, and private credit. Cultivate positive relationships with clients, becoming the "go-to" person for account specific information, which can include security level (bonds, stocks, derivatives) information, portfolio investment performance, investment guideline compliance, clarifications and modification, cash inflows and redemptions in addition to broader, strategic initiatives. Collaborate with portfolio managers, investment product specialists, compliance officers, consultant relations staff, operations, and portfolio administration personnel to organize client meetings and coordinate presentation material content. Use BlackRock's proprietary systems to assemble security, capital market, and economic data to create a range of presentation materials including portfolio review books, board presentations, and marketing materials. Gather critical data to quickly respond orally and in writing to client information requests. Write and publish client meeting summary notes posted to firm wide client relationship management systems. Assist with new client on-boarding- supporting clients through the process of opening new accounts with BlackRock. Travel onsite to meet with clients in-person whether via one-on-one engagement or broader BlackRock institutional / industry events.

Requirements

  • An established track record (2+ years) in institutional relationship management and fundraising, preferably with a focus on alternative investments.
  • Deep industry and investment knowledge.
  • Strong proficiency across a wide range of traditional and alternative Investment products.
  • Clear awareness of key issues affecting institutional investors.
  • A working knowledge of our competitors.
  • An established network of industry relationships, and their key stakeholders.
  • BA/BS degree in related field (Economics, Finance or Accounting).
  • Has, or is willing to obtain, the SIE, series 7, 63, and 3 licenses.
