About The Position

The Associate Information Security Analyst will support the organization’s information security operations by monitoring security events, assisting with incident response, and performing daily security tasks. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates eager to build a career in cybersecurity, with opportunities for training, mentorship, and advancement.

Requirements

  • Strong interest in cybersecurity and information technology.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, and security principles.
  • Ability to analyze information, identify issues, and escalate appropriately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to follow documented processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent work experience, internships, or security-related projects may be considered.
  • 0–2 years of experience in an IT or security role is ideal.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, firewalls, or EDR is preferred.
  • CompTIA Security+ preferred (or ability to obtain within 6–12 months of hire).
  • Other entry-level certifications such as CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+), Microsoft SC-900, or ISC² SSCP are a plus.
  • Continued professional development and certification attainment encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM, EDR, and other security tools.
  • Assist in identifying, investigating, and responding to potential security incidents.
  • Support vulnerability management activities by collecting scan results and tracking remediation efforts.
  • Document incidents, events, and investigations in ticketing and reporting systems.
  • Assist in maintaining security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Participate in phishing simulations and awareness activities by tracking results and reporting outcomes.
  • Support access control reviews and user account management tasks.
  • Perform basic log analysis to identify unusual or suspicious activity.
  • Escalate security events to senior analysts when necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of IT and security assets.
  • Participate in security assessments, audits, and compliance activities.
  • Contribute to team knowledge base by documenting processes and playbooks.
  • Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security trends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
