Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Requires a minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and coordinates activities for all functions associated with inventory distribution to domestic and international customers.
  • Overall responsibility for overseeing all distribution functions including receiving, inventory control, packing, shipping, cycle counting and returns.
  • Interfaces with the functional areas within New Product Development, Research & Development, Advanced Research and Quality to ensure inventory requirements are met.
  • Receives, stores and issues material for entire campus.
  • Plans, oversees, monitors and controls activities of the warehouse in a manner that assures the proper receipt, handling, storage and issuance of material
  • Plans, oversees and controls shipping, operations within established company policy and procedures and applicable local, state, federal and international regulations
  • Oversees and controls the activities of traffic, import and export operations
  • Compares identifying information and counts of incoming material to verify information against bills of lading, orders or other records
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages or shortages
  • Receives in to MRP system items that may be on purchase orders
  • Maintains all procedures for both the warehouse and distribution, including reviewing and recommending changes and performing the changes within a documentation system
  • Inventories all items within the warehouse, tracks storage times, notifies owners of materials for disposition and reports to Site Management Team
  • Handles specialty shipments both domestic and international that require same day or next day delivery. Tracks packages as needed to ensure timely delivery
  • Transports and handles large deliveries that cannot be handled by the mail room including transporting packages to other on-campus buildings and supporting other J&J companies housed on campus with their shipping and receiving issues
  • Maintains sufficient supply of shipping materials and copy paper
  • Serves as a resource for Warehouse Associate I staff and assists with training, troubleshooting, and workflow coordination.
  • Site Safety Process Champion for Powered and Industrial Trucks
  • Maintains records and issues that pertain to the forklifts and motorized pallet jacks. Interfaces with Preventative Maintenance company for issues and preventative maintenance schedules
  • Maintains training and schedules training for Site Forklift Operators to ensure adherence to OSHA regulations
  • Campus Contact for chemicals and Hazardous Waste Disposal
  • Transports, handles and ships hazardous chemicals. Maintains certifications for shipping both HazMat and Dangerous Goods
  • Oversees Off-Spec waste to include the collection, storage and disposal of product that may be construed as Over Classified Medical Waste
  • Maintains Resource Collection and Recover Act (RCRA) certification
  • On campus contact for the disposal of all Hazardous Waste and disposal questions
  • Maintains Chemical Storage and Hazardous Waste Storage room, including the transport of chemical in and out of inventory, weekly inspections and over all housekeeping
  • Schedules, interfaces and assists in pick up and disposal of Hazardous Waste and Bio-Hazardous Waste with contractor(s)
  • Maintains training and schedules training for Hazardous Waste backups to include RCRA, DOT, hazardous materials handling and Personal Protection Equipment training
  • Leads recycling and reusing policies and procedures of materials in warehouse to reduce solid waste
  • Coordinates disposal of universal waste and confidential documents with contractor
  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and company compliance with all Federal, State, local and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance
  • Performs other related duties as required
