Located five miles from downtown Boston, Tufts University is a Division III member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the highly-competitive New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). Tufts student-athletes participate in 30 varsity sports, 32 club sports and a number of intramural sports. Tufts Athletics has won 17 NCAA team championships since 2010 and has finished in the top 10 of the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup every year for the past decade, including winning the Director's Cup in 2022 as the top Division III Athletic Department in the nation. Tufts Athletics oversees the University’s Physical Education Department and manages all athletics facilities. The Department of Athletics provides student-athletes with a dynamic, transformational experience on and off the field. Under general supervision, the Associate Head Coach I works with the Head Coach to coach Field Hockey student-athletes. This role involves determining team/game strategies, monitoring student-athlete performance, and ensuring adherence to conference and university rules. The coach will instruct individuals and groups, plan and coach practice sessions, and partner with the Head Coach on game strategy and position assignments. Additionally, the position includes recruiting prospective student-athletes, developing marketing and promotion plans, assisting with fundraising, and performing an assigned secondary duty for the Department of Athletics.
