About The Position

Join our dynamic employee health clinic in Elkton, Virginia as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA). The position is in person, during core business hours, Monday to Friday 7:00 am- 3:30 pm. T his position requires flexibility to meet business needs. Position reports to Associate Director for Global Employee Health, collaborates with a multidisciplinary team including Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician. Candidates must be certified as a Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant, possess a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a medical office or hospital, and have a current BLS certification. Responsibilities include conducting medical surveillance programs, promoting wellness initiatives, and assisting with work-related injuries. Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential. Our ideal candidate is dynamic and resilient, both clinically experienced and proficient and able to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team. A strong focus on teamwork and excellent communication skills are required as the successful candidate must be able to interact collaboratively with colleagues in the clinic but also with employees at all levels in the organization. Must have a strong working knowledge of computers including the Microsoft 365 suite and electronic medical records.

Requirements

  • Must have a HS Diploma or GED and a certificate of completion from an accredited CAAHEP or ABHES Medical Assistant program required.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical office or hospital.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Certification as CMA or RMA required.
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of computers including the Microsoft 365 suite and electronic medical records.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Occupational Health experience desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medical surveillance programs: reviewing questionnaires, administering vaccinations, collecting lab specimens, venipuncture, testing vision, performing audiometry and spirometry, monitoring compliance.
  • Occupational and non-occupational illnesses and injuries including medical emergencies: Assist health care providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments; provide first aid and emergency response as needed.
  • Administrative duties: scheduling appointments, equipment calibration, supply stocking, answering phones, electronic medical record documentation, assist workman's compensation paperwork, and coordination of referrals as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, local health authorities, internal Company policies) for medical surveillance and reporting.
  • Wellness activities including flu vaccination clinics and other company sponsored events.
