About The Position

Join our dynamic employee health clinic in Elkton, Virginia as a Medical Assistant. Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a medical office or hospital and have a current BLS certification. Responsibilities include assisting with work-related injuries, conducting medical surveillance programs, and promoting wellness initiatives. Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential. CCMA, CMA or RMA certification is preferred. Our ideal candidate is dynamic and resilient, both clinically experienced and proficient and can work as a member of a multidisciplinary team. A strong focus on teamwork and excellent communication skills are required as the successful candidate must be able to interact collaboratively with colleagues in the clinic but also with employees at all levels in the organization. Must have a strong working knowledge of computers including Microsoft 365 suite and electronic medical records. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Medical Assistant position in a dynamic employee health clinic. The position is in person, during core business hours, Monday to Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, with potential for flexible hours. Position reports to Associate Director Global Employee Health, collaborates with multidisciplinary team including Registered Nurses and Physician.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical office or hospital.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Must have a HS Diploma or GED and one of the following: A certificate of completion from an accredited CAAHEP or ABHES Medical Assistant program A minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical setting (i.e., medical office or hospital)
  • Strong working knowledge of computers including Microsoft 365 suite and electronic medical records.
  • Strong focus on teamwork and excellent communication skills are required as the successful candidate must be able to interact collaboratively with colleagues in the clinic but also with employees at all levels in the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Occupational Health experience desirable.
  • Certification as CCMA, CMA or RMA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medical surveillance programs: reviewing questionnaires, administering vaccinations, collecting lab specimens, venipuncture, testing vision, performing audiometry and spirometry, monitoring compliance.
  • Occupational and non-occupational illnesses and injuries including medical emergencies: at the direction of the RN, MD/DO.
  • Administrative duties: scheduling appointments, equipment calibration, supply stocking, answering phones, electronic medical record documentation.
  • Wellness activities including flu vaccination clinics and other company sponsored events.
