About The Position

Tishman Speyer is looking for an Associate General Manager to join the Studio by Tishman Speyer Events team located at Studio Gather at 45 Rock in Rockefeller Center in New York City. The Associate General Manager is pivotal in ensuring seamless events that achieve the high level of service that influences client satisfaction and their likelihood to return. Timely responses, creative suggestions, and an entrepreneurial mindset are essential attributes for success in this role.

Requirements

  • College graduate with four-year degree
  • 5-7years of experience in event management, hospitality, sales, or operations
  • Event management, sales, and business operations experience required
  • Financial literacy and experience managing a team preferred
  • Due to the nature of the role this position requires onsite presence and availability for early morning, late night, and/or weekend events
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills; Excited to wear many hats and handle several projects at once
  • Passion for working with people, creating amazing experiences, and leading with hospitality

  • Onsite presence is required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Act as main point of contact for client, vendors, and building personnel after event is booked.
  • Facilitate walkthroughs for clients, vendors, security teams, or production companies ensuring all are aware of and respectful of venue’s rules and restrictions.
  • Work with third-party partners and event staff to coordinate and execute around event timeline.
  • Coordinate arrivals (guests, F&B, rentals, etc.) with the lobby team and property management to maintain event flow.
  • Create Banquet Event Orders (BEO) and host weekly BEO meetings to communicate event details to all building teams: property management, sales team, cleaning, security, engineering, electricians, etc.
  • Oversee event execution from set-up to break-down (F&B presentation, audio/video operations, floor plan configuration, etc.) to ensure an efficient and quality experience.
  • Develop innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment to ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Lead a team of 1-3 and oversee performance and professional development.
  • Manage day-to-day operations to exceed customer expectations and uphold high quality and standards of our Studio space.
  • Oversee relationships with third-party partners (building, facilities, F&B, etc.) to ensure efficient and effective operations while trying to minimize costs without compromising quality.
  • Conduct daily walkthroughs and inventory management.
  • Lead by example, through actions, words and behaviors that influence others to act and respond in ways that are valuable & appropriate to Tishman Speyer Core Values.
  • Foster a team-oriented environment within 45 Rock and the greater Tishman Speyer Teams.
  • Assist the event sales team in conducting tours for prospective clients.
  • Identify opportunities for upsells during the event planning stage.
  • Contribute to new business development and ideation.
  • Own the monthly profit and loss statement.
  • Oversee all budget lines to ensure the business is operating as projected, track all expenses, and discuss monthly P&L with business leaders.
  • Review accounts payable invoices and identify trends and ways to reduce costs.
  • Ensure all bills paid on time.
  • Consistently analyze spend to determine ways to cut costs while still maintaining standards.
  • Conduct monthly bill run, ensuring accurate invoices produced and distributed on time
  • Oversee all accounts receivable and ensure member invoices are paid each month
