About The Position

Associate General Counsel - Attorney position supporting the F-35 Lightning II Program. Attorney will handle legal work associated with Production, International (including collaboration on overseas co-production and industrial development), Development & Follow-on Modernization, Sustainment and Supply Chain Management and lead on a dedicated portfolio in collaboration with the F-35 legal team. Responsibilities include the full spectrum of government and commercial contracting from proposals to program performance. Responsibilities will also entail being able to provide advice on data rights and program-related disputes at prime and subcontract levels. Will develop and negotiate traditional and innovative strategies, contractual arrangements and terms. Attorney must collaborate closely with vice president level program leadership, contracts and finance teams and government and industry counterparts as well as other attorneys on the program and in the department. Position will also manage outside counsel and collaborate on investigations and litigation as needed. Strong leadership, communication and writing skills expected. Must be able to act independently but also under guidance of senior leadership when necessary. Requirements

  • J.D. degree.
  • Government contracts Legal experience in a law firm, corporation, or government.
  • Experience with handling legal issues in U.S. defense and aerospace industry sector (with USG and foreign customers and partners)
  • Licensed to practice law in the U.S.
  • 5 plus years of directly relevant experience
  • Ability to obtain a USG security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with U.S. defense large acquisition programs including but not limited to aircraft and other major weapons systems.
  • International Contracting legal experience (Foreign Military Sales, Direct Commercial Sales).
  • US Cooperative Program experience.
  • Experience with claims and REAs.
  • Familiarity with government cost principles and accounting standards.
  • Experience with doing business internationally
