The Associate General Counsel is responsible for providing a high level of professional legal service by representing and advising the Arizona Board of Regents and Arizona State University on a broad range of legal matters in the higher education sector. This position is within the ASU Office of General Counsel (OGC) transactional practice group, which concentrates on a variety of complex transactional matters including complex commercial transactions, business formation and structures, global and national operations, finance, including public finance and other legal matters. The group provides legal advice and counsel on state and federal laws, applicable regulations, and Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR) and ASU policies impacting the university; assists with the development of educational training programs for administrators, faculty, and staff; manages a significant and varied workload including working on multiple unrelated matters concurrently and completing complex projects both independently and with minimal direction; utilizes excellent judgment and discretion as well as exceptional integrity and research and communication skills. This position interacts regularly with senior level administration and with state, local, and federal regulatory offices.
