About The Position

Eaton’s AER FED Fluid Electrical Distribution division is currently seeking a Associate Engineering Intern. The hourly rate for this position is $22.15-$34.62 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. What you’ll do: PRIMARY FUNCTION: Support engineering development for test validation of a new design to find possible issues and take actions to improve the robustness of the design and ensure the delivery of reliable product.

Requirements

  • Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
  • A good working knowledge and proficiency with power supply design and simulation and analysis.
  • Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • Relocation is not provided for this role. Candidates must reside within the immediate geographic area to be considered.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
  • This position requires the use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Good verbal, written communication, and team player.
  • Well organized, detail oriented and good understanding of the design for power conversion.

Responsibilities

  • Perform simulation analysis and validation of prototype for IR&D design development utilizing new GaN technology. Communicate findings to the Project Engineer assigned and make valid suggestions to resolve findings and to improve design robustness.
  • Perform power up process of a breadboard / prototype in a Power Lab environment utilizing electronic power equipment; power analyzer, digital scope, electronic loads, DMM, current amplifier, impedance analyzer, etc.
  • Update schematic and perform pertinent calculations to access stress levels against derating guidelines and report findings, make reasonable suggestions to rectify any negative findings.
  • Follow Eaton EHS and safety requirements using the proper PPE during testing and troubleshooting.
  • Generate stress analysis report.
  • Able to observe and prove in the bench simulation and analysis performed.
  • Able to present to the team validation results, recommendations and suggest resolutions.
