About The Position

We’re seeking an Associate Civil Engineer to join our growing Engineering Division. Under the direction of a Project Manager, this position performs both field and office work related to the design, planning, and construction management of public infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated civil engineer who enjoys a balance of technical design and project management responsibilities, with the potential to grow into a leadership role within our Folsom team.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an A.B.E.T.-accredited university.
Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of California.
Valid California Driver’s License.

Nice To Haves

5+ years of experience in roadway, water, wastewater, and/or stormwater design.
Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Familiar with water, wastewater, and stormwater modeling software.
Experience managing or assisting in the management of design projects.
Strong understanding of construction management and inspection processes.
Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team.
Knowledge of networked computer systems and digital project workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform civil engineering tasks related to the design and construction of roadway, water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects.
Prepare design studies, plans, specifications, and cost estimates (PS&E).
Conduct plan checks and coordinate with contractors, agencies, and subconsultants.
Monitor project tasks to ensure conformance with scope, schedule, and budget.
Support construction management and inspection activities.
Participate in marketing, proposal preparation, and business development efforts.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff.
Assist Project Managers in developing project schedules, budgets, and documentation.
