The Technology, Commercial & Industrial Team specializes in advanced manufacturing, generative AI computing, gigafactories, bio/ag tech, data centers, and distributed infrastructure. This team provides complete engineering, procurement, and construction services for new and operating assets in areas such as Substations, Renewables Integration, HVDC/FACTS/STATCOM, Datacenters Integration, and BESS Integration. As an Associate Electrical Engineer, you will support a variety of substation projects up to 765kV in engineering detailed design and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC).

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
Minimum of 1 year related work experience.

Nice To Haves

High voltage (HV) substation design experience – Physical and/or Protection & Controls
Engineering-in-Training (EIT) Certification
Proficient with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office Programs (such as Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)

Responsibilities

Support a variety of substation projects ranging up to 765kV in engineering detailed design and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC).
Develop protection and control design deliverables including protective relays, panel arrangements, one line/single line diagrams, three line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, relay panel wiring and equipment wiring within high voltage substation designs.
Develop physical design deliverables including yard layout plans, grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements, and auxiliary AC/DC power systems within high voltage substation designs.
Prepare equipment specifications and Bills of Materials (BOM) for procurement and construction.
Correspond with clients, vendors and subcontractors.
Travel to client and vendor offices and/or project sites for design reviews, construction coordination and field verification.
Adhere to and/or prepare design budgets and schedules.
Perform QA/QC responsibilities.
Provide support to business development or pursuit activities.
Perform substation designs, including physical design, protection and control with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
Learn and remain current on departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and B&V policies and procedures.
Apply knowledge independently and comply with B&V quality program.
Support continuous improvement and change management efforts.
Prepare a variety of increasingly complex engineering deliverables.
Perform research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
Collect, assimilate, and manage data for engineering work.
Prepare increasingly complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
Understand, adhere to and/or prepare budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
Recognize, define and resolve problems within assigned area.
Provide direction and guidance to others.
Assign and guide tasks to develop entry level professionals and/or interns.
Coordinate with project leadership and other internal/external team members on high voltage substation projects.
Interact with other disciplines on details of design work.
Understand external client's interest and drivers through regular interaction and communication.
Focus on needs of internal clients and project leadership.
Share current knowledge of latest technology and processes.
Assist with performance management process, recognition, and any corrective actions required (as skills develop).
Actively mentor and train entry level professionals and interns.
