The Technology, Commercial & Industrial Team specializes in advanced manufacturing, generative AI computing, gigafactories, bio/ag tech, data centers, and distributed infrastructure. This team provides complete engineering, procurement, and construction services for new and operating assets in areas such as Substations, Renewables Integration, HVDC/FACTS/STATCOM, Datacenters Integration, and BESS Integration. As an Associate Electrical Engineer, you will support a variety of substation projects up to 765kV in engineering detailed design and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
  • Minimum of 1 year related work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • High voltage (HV) substation design experience – Physical and/or Protection & Controls
  • Engineering-in-Training (EIT) Certification
  • Proficient with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office Programs (such as Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Support a variety of substation projects ranging up to 765kV in engineering detailed design and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC).
  • Develop protection and control design deliverables including protective relays, panel arrangements, one line/single line diagrams, three line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, relay panel wiring and equipment wiring within high voltage substation designs.
  • Develop physical design deliverables including yard layout plans, grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements, and auxiliary AC/DC power systems within high voltage substation designs.
  • Prepare equipment specifications and Bills of Materials (BOM) for procurement and construction.
  • Correspond with clients, vendors and subcontractors.
  • Travel to client and vendor offices and/or project sites for design reviews, construction coordination and field verification.
  • Adhere to and/or prepare design budgets and schedules.
  • Perform QA/QC responsibilities.
  • Provide support to business development or pursuit activities.
  • Perform substation designs, including physical design, protection and control with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
  • Learn and remain current on departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and B&V policies and procedures.
  • Apply knowledge independently and comply with B&V quality program.
  • Support continuous improvement and change management efforts.
  • Prepare a variety of increasingly complex engineering deliverables.
  • Perform research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
  • Collect, assimilate, and manage data for engineering work.
  • Prepare increasingly complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
  • Understand, adhere to and/or prepare budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Recognize, define and resolve problems within assigned area.
  • Provide direction and guidance to others.
  • Assign and guide tasks to develop entry level professionals and/or interns.
  • Coordinate with project leadership and other internal/external team members on high voltage substation projects.
  • Interact with other disciplines on details of design work.
  • Understand external client's interest and drivers through regular interaction and communication.
  • Focus on needs of internal clients and project leadership.
  • Share current knowledge of latest technology and processes.
  • Assist with performance management process, recognition, and any corrective actions required (as skills develop).
  • Actively mentor and train entry level professionals and interns.
