About The Position

The Associate Day Program Director is a full-time exempt position who has direct oversight of service delivery of individuals attending the Adult Day Program. The Associate Director manages the overall operations, administrative activities, and assigned staff of the program.

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university and; one (1) year work experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities; or, a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and; two (2) years’ work experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities; or an Associate’s Degree or sixty (60) credit hours from an accredited university or college and four (4) years’ experience in the supervision of community based programs working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.

Responsibilities

  • Provides management, direction, and administrative oversight to direct and indirect reports within assigned areas of responsibility
  • Provides direction to ensure that program sites operate in compliance with state, federal, industry, and organizational compliance requirements and to ensure that all Program staff meet licensing as required
  • Coordinates schedules and actively participates in team meetings, annual meetings, and meetings with families, as needed, to support staff and related activities
  • Ensures proper staffing levels and work distribution within assigned program site
  • Conducts staff meetings with direct reports and attends program management meetings to promote a constant flow of information, open discussions, knowledge sharing, and to ensure staff are well-informed
  • Attends various internal management meetings, external conferences, family conferences, etc., to both obtain and share information
  • Directly manages the ongoing job performance of direct reports, develops and communicates performance goals, completes performance evaluations within established timeframes; provides feedback, develops and takes action on performance improvement plans, and determines and implements disciplinary action as needed
  • Appropriately delegates work responsibilities
  • Supports the professional development and career growth of direct reports by identifying and providing ongoing training and certification attainment in accordance with state licensing regulations and any accreditation standards, as applicable within the area of responsibility
  • In conjunction with Senior Director of Community-Based Services, monitors expenses, identifies and resolves budget variances, and effectively reallocates dollars to meet established annual financial budgets. Meets contribution margin for areas of direct responsibility
  • Working in conjunction with the Human Resources Department, actively participates in the applicant hiring and termination process for direct reports. Interviews and screens applicants to identify qualified candidates, appropriately explains job content and performance expectations to applicants, and provides hiring and termination recommendations
  • Ensures that all staffing and scheduling needs are identified and addressed to ensure a fully-staffed operation and quality provision of care to individuals
  • Participates in the admission process for direct areas of responsibility. Ensures effective transitioning to discharge sites. Participates in the screening process of prospective persons served to determine appropriateness of placement of individuals entering or leaving the Program
  • As needed, maintains effective communications with persons served, parents, guardians, other family members, healthcare personnel, colleagues, own supervisor, coworkers across Programs and functions, neighbors, surrounding communities, etc
  • Contributes to the overall integrity of Individual records and files for adults by monitoring overall quality assurance, continuity of care for all persons served, for communication purposes, and for timely review by internal and external auditors, insurance companies, legal representatives, funding sources, Quality Management Department, HIPAA compliance, etc
  • Ensures adherence to state-approved emergency procedures and Delta-approved crisis intervention techniques for each person served in assigned program sites
  • Serves as a role model to others by projecting a positive self-image of professionalism, appearance, courtesy, conduct, confidentiality, honesty, fairness, personal integrity, and a respect for the fundamental rights, dignity, and privacy of others
  • Performs other related management, direct care, and oversight duties as assigned or as necessary. Remains flexible and adaptable in assignments. May serve as Day Program Director as necessary and/or in the absence of the same
  • Abides by the Delta Code of Ethics, Mission Statement, and Vision Statement in promoting ethical behavior, establishing relationships and providing guidance in decision-making situations
